Privacy policy

1. In short

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit the early access form, we collect:

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider processes technical information needed to deliver the site and keep it secure, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. We do not use this information to identify you.

Information stored on your device

The site stores a few functional preferences in your browser: your day or night theme, and whether the opening animation has already played in this session. These are not used for tracking or advertising.

3. How we use your information

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

4. Legal bases

Where the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 applies, we rely on your consent when you submit the form, and on our legitimate interests in operating a secure site and improving Leese. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on consent for the early access list, legitimate interests for site security and improvement, and legal obligation where necessary.

You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to remove you from the list. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site and the early access list, and only for those purposes.

These providers handle website hosting, content delivery, security, form processing and storage, web fonts, business email, and privacy-first analytics. They receive only the information needed for those tasks, such as technical data, form details, and the contents of messages you send us, and they are required to protect it.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, if we need to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or restructuring of the business. If that happens, we will take reasonable steps to protect the information.

Clicking a social link takes you to LinkedIn, X, or Instagram, which have their own privacy policies.

6. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies. We do not sell audience data.

We use a privacy-first analytics service to count page views and measure page performance. It does not set cookies, does not read or write localStorage, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track you across sites. It reports aggregate information such as page views, referring sites, country, device type, browser, and Core Web Vitals.

The functional preferences described in section 2 are stored in your browser's local or session storage. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings.

7. How long we keep information

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To exercise a right, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before we act, and we will respond within the time the applicable law requires.

In Nigeria, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. In the EU or UK, you can complain to your local supervisory authority.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than Nigeria, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers, such as standard contractual clauses offered by the provider.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including HTTPS on the site and access controls on the systems that store sign-ups. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

11. Children

The site is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product develops. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to make it clear on the site or by email.
